“I was born in 1984, and Europe is my home. I’m European, and I identify with Europe first and foremost. I studied European Politics as a European person in a European country. In 2012, an American journalist asked me in an interview what my degree would be worth if the European Union fell apart. I was stunned and replied I would ask him the same about the United States of America. The end of either one of these unions was, and is, equally inconceivable to me. Of course, the European Union and stability on the European continent isn’t God given, and neither are the freedom and the opportunities which European citizens enjoy. We all have to work and fight for this union to stay strong. United Europe is an important organization to help this cause as it lives European values, and resembles what makes the European Union such a unique and significant player in the global arena: cooperation and mutual support for fellow Europeans; communication and promotion of their ideas and causes. The concept of cross-European mentorship epitomizes this approach.”
